Local MP Jesse Norman has given a huge welcome to the news today that Herefordshire Council will be funded to set up a new SEND special needs school in the county. Government education Minister Diana Barran made the announcement in a letter, attached below. 

Commenting, Jesse said:

“This is incredible news: that Herefordshire is to be funded to set up a new SEND special needs school. 

“It is very badly needed, given the growing pressures on numbers at Blackmarston, Brookfield and Barrs Court. 

“We have no details yet on where it will be, or how large. But this decision in principle by the Government is no less welcome for that. I will do everything I can to support this new venture and make it a success.”
