Jesse welcomes new spending on Sixth Form College, schools, special needs, buses

Local MP Jesse Norman has welcomed new Government spending which will greatly benefit people across Herefordshire.

The new funding was announced in the Government's Spending Round, announced yesterday in the House of Commons. It includes billions of pounds in new financial support for schools, the NHS, policing, adult social care and defence.

Commenting on the announcement, Jesse said:

"This is tremendous news for Herefordshire. But I am especially delighted about the extra funding for local primary and secondary schools, the funding for our fabulous Sixth Form College, and the funding for those with special needs. Plus the new support for buses will I hope make a real difference in rural areas such as ours.

"We have had huge success recently on individual campaigns, like the replacement of the hutted wards at Hereford Hospital, the new medical centre, and the university project. But it is also great when we can get funding on these vital longer-term issues, which affect young and old alike."
