A year 6 student at Trinity Primary School in Hereford will have her artwork featured on MP Jesse Norman’s Christmas card, following a competition run by Mr Norman and the school.
Makayla’s design features a wintry scene complete with Christmas trees, baubles, snow flakes and a snowman. It has now been printed on over 4,000 cards which will be sent throughout Hereford and South Herefordshire and beyond. As in previous years, deliveries in Hereford will be made via scout post.
Makayla won a framed version of her design plus a set of artist’s pencils – and a donation has been made to the school. Previous schools to take part in Jesse’s competition include St Martins, Peterchurch, Barrs Court and Ashfield Park School in Ross-on-Wye.
Speaking after the prize-giving ceremony, Jesse said: “It’s always tough to choose a winner from the hundreds of entries, but Makayla’s design stood out for its simplicity and imaginative use of colour and shading. I would like to thank all the children that took part, as well as the teachers and staff at Trinity school for encouraging them and helping to run the competition.”
