As his 2014 Discover Ross competition continues, local MP Jesse Norman has thanked all the local people who have been in touch so far to support their favourite local businesses, and invited nominations for the third and final round – Ross-on-Wye and HR9's Pub of 2014.
The Discover Ross competition was set up by Jesse in order to help to promote independent businesses in the Ross and wider HR9 area. In the first two rounds, hundreds of local people have nominated their favourite independent shops and places to eat.
Jesse said: “The idea behind Discover Ross has been to encourage local people and those farther afield to make the most of Ross’s many fantastic places to eat, drink and shop.
“I must say I have been delighted at the level of support from local businesses and customers alike. The winners of Round Two--focusing on local cafes and restaurants--will be announced soon.
“We will be presenting awards to the winners at this year’s May Fayre, and there are less than three weeks now to get those final pub nominations in.”
Nominations for the final round – Ross and HR9 Pub of 2014 – close on Tuesday 6 May. Anyone can nominate, and there will be a prize for the best nominations too. Nominations can be made for any pub in the HR9 postcode area.
To make a nomination, simply email discoverrossuk@gmail.com, tweet using the #DiscoverRoss hashtag, write to Jesse at Suite 3, Penn House, Broad Street, Hereford, HR4 9AP, or ask for a form in your favourite Ross cafe, restaurant or takeaway.
