Local MP Jesse Norman welcomes news that the county has been awarded a £5 million grant to redevelop the Hereford Museum and Art Gallery by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Jesse said:
“The new Herefordshire Museum and Gallery will give a huge boost to culture, the arts, heritage and tourism in Hereford, in our county towns and across the Marches.
“I am especially excited that it will create a permanent new home for the Herefordshire Hoard, a collection with immense historical and cultural significance, as well as the potential for long term loans from some of the UK's great national collections.
“With £22 million coming in recently to this county from the Stronger Towns Fund, nearly £20 million from the Levelling Up Fund, and now this grant of £5 million from the Lottery Fund, we are continuing to make huge progress in securing long term Investment in our county.”
