Earlier this week I had a chance to congratulate and thank the Farming Minister, George Eustice, who has announced a new £60m grants scheme through which farmers can bid for cash to buy new farm equipment.

Needless to say this is extremely welcome news for Herefordshire, and will help local farmers to remain strong and competitive. But there is only a month or so to apply!

The scheme is open to all farmers, including livestock, dairy, arable and horticultural sectors. They can apply online to the Countryside Productivity Small Grant Scheme to request a grant between £3,000 and £12,000 towards the costs of a specified range of farm equipment.

The scheme closes for applications at midday on Wednesday 14th March.
