Local MP Jesse Norman visited John Kyrle High School and Sixth Form recently to meet with business studies students.

The proposed closure of No.1 Ledbury Road has featured heavily in these pages, and my in-tray has been filled with correspondence from local people who are concerned at the situation. Only last week the centre was temporarily closed at no notice due to staff illness, causing great distress to those it serves.

As I put finger to keyboard for this column the Conservative Party conference in Birmingham is in full swing.

Local MP Jesse Norman visited the Rolls-Royce factory in Derby this week.

As Minister for Industry and Energy, Jesse was keen to see one of the country’s most important engineering companies in action, and to discuss UK investment in aerospace with them.

I was delighted to deliver a petition to the Prime Minister with the folks from the Herefordshire branch of the Campaign For Real Ale. 

From the moment I was first elected as your MP, I have been determined to achieve one thing above all else:  a fairer share of public funding for Herefordshire.  Every week my in-tray is filled with issues affected by the under-funding of public services.

I am delighted to be back on stand and writing this column again, after a brief summer hiatus.
